How do I add captions (subtitles)?
One click writes captions from what your customer said, in any language. Fix any word and pick a style.

Most people watch videos with the sound off. Captions let them follow along.
- Open the video (Video reviews, click it, press Edit).
- Choose Captions on the left.
- Press Generate captions. It usually takes 20 to 60 seconds. You can keep working meanwhile.
We find the language by ourselves and time every word. A short quote is made from them too (see How do I turn a video into a written quote?).
Fix a word
Click a line and type. It saves by itself.
To move a line in time, open its ⋯ menu and choose Start at playhead or End at playhead. You can also Add line or Delete line.
Change the look
Switch from Lines to Style at the top of the panel and pick:
- Style: Clean, Boxed, Karaoke, Bold pop, Lower third or Outline.
- Font, Size and Position (top, middle or bottom). For Reels and Stories ads, pick Middle.
- Colours for the text and the highlighted word.
Turn Show off to hide the captions without deleting them.
Not working?
"No speech was found in this video"
We couldn't hear anyone talking, for example if the sound is very quiet. You can still press Add a line by hand and type the captions yourself.
It says this month's AI minutes are used up
Captions and quotes use AI minutes: 60 a month on Free, 600 on Pro. They come back on the 1st of the month. You can see how many you've used in Settings → Advanced, under Usage.
"Remake all caption lines?"
Regenerate makes the captions again from scratch. Words you fixed by hand are replaced. The look stays the same.
